What’s on offer?
With a career dedicated to working with young people in community services, Trudy is enthusiastic about sharing the power of words and storytelling with them.
Trudy runs tailored creative writing workshops for students in Years 6 to 12. These sessions include fun activities where students create unique characters and learn to utilise the five senses to bring settings to life. Trudy also speaks about her writing and publishing experiences and is always happy to answer questions.
As part of her business, Still Waters Ecotherapy, Trudy also offers nature writing workshops, which can be provided as an additional option for school students.
Sessions run for 60–90 minutes each, depending on your need.
How much does it cost?
Trudy charges in accordance with the Australian Society of Authors’ recommended rates. Please see these rates (selecting ‘'School Appearances’) here.
What’s Trudy’s qualifications?
Trudy holds a Bachelor of Arts (English), Graduate Diploma of Youth Studies, and a Master of Ministry, as well as nearly two decades’ experience working with young people and their families across the community services field. She has a strong commitment to trauma-informed practice.
Trudy has an active WWCC, ABN (GST registered), and Public Liability Insurance.
Is Trudy available to travel?
Trudy is available to travel across Australia. Travel expenses are to be covered by the school, in accordance with the Australian Society of Authors guidelines, and are calculated from Trudy’s home in Blackwood, VIC.
